About IWP/RIXS
The IWP/RIXS series of workshops have been organized every three years since 1990. The last one was in Aussois, France, in 2017.
Postponed for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2022 edition will be held onsite, or in a hybrid mode if circumstances require it. The workshop has a broad scope, covering photoionization and RIXS processes in all forms of matter.
Both experimental and theoretical approaches will be covered, as well as new methodologies associated with synchrotron radiation, XFELs and HHG sources. We intend also to focus on the interfaces between physics, chemistry, nano-sciences and life sciences.
Organization considerations and the COVID-19 Problem
The next IWP&RIXS workshop was originally scheduled for 2020, but was postponed due to COVID-19. In FY2022, the organizing committee have begun preparing for an in-person workshop, after considering the current situation and global measures regarding the pandemic.
By the summer of 2022, we anticipate that the situation will have sufficiently improved to allow planning for onsite attendance to begin. However, we will endeavour to ensure that workshop is held with the health and well-being of all attendees in mind, and take appropriate measures regarding sanitary procedures and social distancing to provide a safe and comfortable environment.
We will also provide VISA application support to international attendees who require it.
